Не секрет, что лето – сезон работ в полевых условиях для археологов из Курска и других городов мира. Как стало известно журналистам, были завершены раскопки на юге региона, т.е. в Беловском районе. Специалисты работали на Гочевском комплексе и, наконец, завершили все задуманное. Сейчас они переметнулись в другое место, а точнее в Курчатовский район, который раскинулся в непосредственной близости от поселка им. К. Либкнехта. Сейчас раскопки в вышеназванном районе в самом разгаре.
Гочевский комплекс – уникальное местечко, так как оно известно за пределами всей Курской области. Работы началось не вчера, а еще в начале прошлого века, а точнее в 1909 г. В последние годы его проводили ученые из Курска, их коллеги и студенты из Санкт-Петербургского университета. Они подключились к раскопкам Царского дворца, Крутого кургана (городища, которые входят в комплекс с давних лет). Г. Стародубцев (руководитель областного археологического музей) говорит, что в 2013 г. раскопки носили исследовательский характер. Никто не ставил перед собой цель обнаружение сенсационных предметов. Куда более важным представлялось изучение площадки и выяснение этапов сооружения крепости. Уже подведены некоторые предварительные итоги. Перед строительством предки осуществляли выравнивание бугристой местности, возводили поперечные валы, делали насыпь, а потом утрамбовывали ее. Они проделывали колоссальную работу. Они утрамбовали свыше 7-8 тыс. куб. метров земли. При этом надо учитывать тот факт, что они работали лопатами и использовали при проведении работ телеги. У ученых же ушло три года на исследование около 250 куб. глинистой и черноземной почвы. Они старались работать быстро, но с далекими предками им не сравниться. Существует версия, что они провели земляные работы, проложили дорогу, возвели оборонительные сооружения и построили деревянные конструкции всего за 2 сезона. При раскопках были найдены 4 погребения, которые свидетельствуют о захоронении защитников крепости.
